The young player, who also made his club debut in the qualifying round a few weeks prior with a substitute appearance at Sporting Lisbon, then assisted the Madrid side overcome the English Premier League side in the midweek return to confirm a last eight place.

He joined Madrid from CD Leganes in 2023, having previously been with Atletico Madrid and Getafe youth teams, and starting out for the under-19 side, where he rapidly created a positive impact.
He worked his way up to the reserve side and it was during a pre-season game in which they played against the academy's first team, then coached by Arbeloa, where the teenager is said to have drawn the eye of the current Real boss, who replaced Xabi Alonso in the new year.
Spanish media would later describe the moment as "love at first sight," noting he stood out not only for his technical ability, but for the energy, character and drive he added to the team.
'His Best Attribute Remains His Personality'
During the pre-season of 2025, former boss Alonso called up the youngster to train with the senior squad and awarded him minutes in the warm-up matches.
However, it was Arbeloa's appointment that became the turning point in his development as he was introduced as a late substitute in both ties against the Portuguese side that set up the clash with Manchester City.
"I have dreamed of this every night before going to bed, the very first time I started playing the game, each day you go to train and each day you have a game," said the player following his first appearance.
"I have just fulfilled my dream with the greatest club in the planet and in the best competition."

The teenager has seized it with displays that have belied his age and inexperience.
"He's a very quick footballer, and you can observe what he's capable of," said the coach. "He's extremely energetic, with great stamina, effort and mobility."
Pitarch's mentality has also impressed his manager.
"His standout trait is his personality," continued he. "He always wants the possession, and when pressed, he doesn't feel it.
"I realize fans might be astonished to see him make his debut in a Champions League match, but he is selected because I had complete confidence in him to perform his normal game.
"Thiago will keep receiving opportunities with the main squad. It's a pleasure to coach a talent like him."
A Future International Decision
Pitarch was born in a Madrid suburb, in the Spanish capital's community, and was raised fully immersed in Spanish football, moving through youth setups before entering Real Madrid's renowned youth academy.
He possesses dual Moroccan and Spanish nationality, giving him the choice to play for both nations at the highest level.
Under international regulations, players may represent multiple nations at youth level without being locked in, with the ultimate choice only final once they play in a official full international.
Pitarch has featured for Spain at underage levels, representing both the U19 and U20 sides, and participated in the 2025 Fifa Under-20 World Cup, where La Roja reached the quarter-finals.
Despite this, he has not yet decided to any full national side, who are watching his progress with interest.
In a recent interview, the player said: "I have not taken my ultimate choice so far. Things are positive with the Spanish federation, but I'll make a decision soon."
This scenario mirrors that of other bi-national players such as Real team-mate Diaz and Barcelona forward Yamal. While teenage Lamine chose La Roja, Diaz opted to play for the Atlas Lions.
Focus on the Future
At present, Pitarch's focus is on establishing himself in the Real side and repaying his manager's belief.
He played over an hour in the 2-1 victory at City, which completed a five-one overall triumph and a quarter-final matchup with the German champions.
His substitution by fellow youth graduate in Angel underscored Arbeloa's trust in younger players to aid the club pursue trophies to come.
After his impressive impact to date on European football's biggest stage, the midfielder is expected to be a central figure in that.
"The manager handles me the identical way. We deal with it very normally. I attempt not to think about it excessively - I have to deserve my minutes on the pitch," he said following the success at Etihad Stadium.
