Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.

A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
