Top-ranked Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.
The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and collected a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She garnered almost 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".

- Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking a extended hiatus after the birth of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko picked up the award after starting the season positioned beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to the eighteenth spot.
