The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
