Barcelona to Host Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
